- what's going on?
- ON SECOND THOUGHT for the last weeks (before I even tried changing my linux distro) I recognized a weird pattern
- 1. I could always connect if I used windows
- 2. If I booted linux (at that time kanotix) I could not connect to the internet (at the time I didn't investigate why)
- 2.1 If I rebooted linux (that is rebooted while in linux and chose linux AGAIN on GRUB menu) I could connect
- 3. When I initially booted from the ubuntu live cd the pattern in 2.1 repeated
- 4. Will simply rebooting linux (in the last few days I've been hopping between my two partitions) allow me connect, and if so why is this going on?!?!?!
- 5. To answer the previous question --> NO, the laptop seems to allow me to use USB devices and connect to the internet at random
- [email protected]:~$ sudo ifup eth0
- There is already a pid file /var/run/dhclient.eth0.pid with pid 134993416
