- NOTE: This story takes place about a year or so after the Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask timelines of The Legend of Zelda game series. In this case, Link is at an age which is close to adult(let's say, Oracle series age). Forgive any mistakes made, in this case.
- A quiet morning in Kokiri Forest was just beginning as Link was in his tree house, writing in his diary.
- 'Everything is just perfect. I've just turned 17, and peace is forever brought to the land of Hyrule. Perhaps now that Ganondorf and the Mask of Majora are out of the way, I can finally continue my search for Na--'
- Before being able to finish writing, Link was distracted by the clear sound of a blood curdling howl. The sound brought back memories of his journey to the Forest Temple, long ago... It was a Wolfo, for sure. After snapping out of his short trip down memory lane, he stepped outside only to see that Wolfo's began to invade Kokiri Forest, breaking into the houses and causing destruction all around. This alarming situation seemed to not only bring back more memories of Link's journey with his faithful, though sometimes annoying, friend Navi, but it gave him a thirst to do what was right and defend his home. Quickly running back inside, Link grabbed something from under his bed. It was a finely crafted blade he'd worked on for quite some time now. He never intended on actually using it anytime soon, but now was the time to test it out. He strapped on the case and brought out the blade, jumping from his doorway to the ground outside, coming face to face with a Wolfo approaching his tree house. It seemed that up close, these Wolfo's were not like the others; They were covered with dark and bushy fur, a shade of purple could be seen in the right lighting. And their eyes, pale yellow and filled with cold heartless thoughts of death. Seeing such a beast in front of him scared Link for just a moment, but he didn't let it keep him down. As soon as the Wolfo started to attack, Link quickly dodged it and slashed at its side, leaving a small bit of black liquid at the end of his blade... Was this blood? The Wolfo was down for a moment, but soon stood back up and faced him, almost seeming unharmed by the attack. When Link saw how it glared at him, he remembered a familiar foe... Not Ganondorf, but the evil counterpart of himself which he faced in the Water Temple. That counterpart was meant to copy all of his actions, except use them for his own evil purposes. If not for the hammer he has obtained at the time, his lookalike would have been victorious then. But before they finished their battle, he escaped in a liquid form, never to be seen again. The quick flashback caused Link to be attacked by the Wolfo, smacking face first into one of the walls. Before he could react to this attack, Link fell to the ground, out cold.
- As Link layed unconcious, he dreams of a memory from the past... Or technically, the future, when he defeated Ganon in his adult form. He no longer feared Ganondorf after he was sealed away within the Sacred Realm, but still remembered the words that evil tyrant spoke... "YOU... CURSE YOU, ZELDA! CURSE YOU, SAGES!! CURSE YOU... LINK!!!" Although it did not seem like much, the following words are what he dwells on all these years, "Someday, when this seal is broken... That's when I will exterminate your descendants!! As long as the Triforce of Power is in my hand..." Such a threat seemed to mean nothing, considering he was gone for good, but to Link it meant a lot. As Link saw him disappear into the void-like realm, the beautiful Princess Zelda took his hand and looked deeply into his eyes as she spoke, "Thank you, Link... Thanks to you, peace will reign in this world... For a time. All the tragedy that has befallen Hyrule was my doing... I was so young, I could not comprehend the consequences of trying to control the Sacred Realm. I dragged you into it, too. Now it is time for me to make up for my mistakes.. But I need your help." Link was caught by surprise, "What more would I be able to do?" he asked.
- Zelda gave him a small smile, one that he has not seen for a while since Ganondorf ruled. "You must lay the Master Sword to rest and close the Door of Time. However... by doing so, the road between times will be closed." She said, her last few words leading to a frown. She reached her hand to him, and said, "Link, give me the Ocarina. As a Sage, I can return you to your original time." Link, still surprised by her words, gave her the Ocarina she requested, and asked her, "What would be come of you?" She simply smiled again, as she was given the Ocarina. "When peace returns to Hyrule, it will be time for us to say goodbye... But I will always remember you in my heart." Link was saddened to think that they may never meet, but he kept his tears in, for her. "Anything you say, princess..." He said, slowly coming to a smile of hope. "Now, go home, Link. Regain the time that you lost to Ganondorf!" She said to him, as she couldn't help but hug him tightly to say goodbye. "Home... Where you are meant to be... The way you are supposed to be..." With that, she backed away and began to play the Ocarina. A bright light engulfed Link, as he was taken back in time to finally heal the time that was damaged by the evil tyrant, Ganondorf...
- By this time, Link awakened from his short nap, as the light in his dream was in front of him there; The light coming from his old friend, Navi, who had disappeared long ago! "Link! Thank goodness you've awakened!" Link shot up quickly as he saw her, nearly scaring her off. "NAVI! You've come back!!" She giggled a little, and sat on his shoulder. "Yes I have. But right now, we need to go to the Temple of Time. Ganondorf is trying to use the Master Sword to escape the Sacred Realm, and take over Hyrule!" Link quickly snapped out of their loving reunion as he looked around, seeing all the damage done by the Wolfo's which were here before... They all seemed to disappear by now, and the Kokiri children tried to gather their courage back after such a horrible experience. Link approached the group of Kokiri that were discussing the matter with Mido, when Mido soon charged toward Link in anger, to get some answers as to what happened. "YOU!! Fairy boy! What's with those monsters, huh?!" He exclaimed. Link shook his head, as he answered, "I don't know... But I'm about to find out." As he started to leave the forest and head for Hyrule field, Mido stopped him. "If you don't come back......" Link then stopped, and looked back at him with a small smirk, and smile that shows that he had faith in his victory. "I will. You can be sure of that." With those last words, Link ran out of the Forest, leaving his home behind once again...
