Bernkanstel's Game:
Confirmed deaths / Alibies:
(No one will make a mistake, but the culprit should still be able to lie)
First Twilight:
Eva/Hideyoshi - by George }
Kyrie/Rudolf - by Battler } Maria claims instant death
Rosa - by Maria } for everyone on the first twilight
Genji - by Nanjo and Kanon }
No one has an alibi.
Second Twilight:
Krauss/Natsuhi - by Nanjo and Battler (Both claim instant death)
Servants. Shanon says they were all together, Kanon says they can all prove alibies for each other.
Fourth Twilight:
Shannon(Kanon)- by Nanjo and George
No one, according to Gohda.
George, according to Battler and Jessica.
Fifth/Sixth Twilight:
Gohda/Kumasawa- by Nanjo and Jessica (Nanjo claims instant death)
No one, according to Battler.
The cousins and Nanjo(everyone certainly still alive), according to Jessica.
Seventh Twilight:
Nanjo- by Jessica and George (George claims instant death)
The cousins(everyone certainly still alive), according to Jessica.
Everyone inside the guesthouse(important difference), according to George.
Eight Twilight:
Jessica- by George and Maria (George claims instant death)
The cousins(everyone certainly still alive), according to Battler and Maria.
Other:
Kanon and Genji are certainly dead.
Maria couldn't kill anyone, according to George.
George couldn't kill an adult, but could kill a kid, according to Maria.
Closed rooms:
-First twilight:
The culprit killed six people. Everyone but the victims was seen alive, so they must be dead. Unless they killed 4 people in the first twilight, and 2 on the second.
The children confirmed their parent's deaths. This makes Battler and George suspicious.
According to Gohda, the door was locked when he arrived. Gohda died, so it should be true.
The room was sealed after the second twilight (But it didn't mention anyone checking inside) and the seal was not broken.
-Second twilight:
Gohda says the door was locked, Shannon says she unlocked it. Kanon says they found Krauss and Natsuhi lying there.
Kanon is confirmed to be dead, so he always tells the truth. The room was sealed after it was investigated, and the seal was not broken.
Contradictions:
4th. Gohda: "Not one of us has an alibi." / Jessica: "George couldn't have killed her." + Battler: "Anyone but George could have killed her."
Gohda shouldn't be able to lie. Neither should Jessica. Maybe corrections are not contradictions?
5th/6th.(1) Battler: "None of us has an alibi." / Jessica: "The cousins and Nanjo couldn't have killed them."
Battler lying would mean that they do have an alibi. What kind of culprit would lie on this? Someone didn't really die and killed them, is
my theory. Or maybe these statements are different enough to be true at the same time.
5th/6th.(2) George: "It's locked up" + Jessica: "The cousins and Nanjo couldn't have killed them." / Battler: "There are no master keys outside."
Someone is lying, or someone who dodged death already is inside the guesthouse.
7th. George: "No one could kill him inside the guesthouse" / Battler: "Nanjo didn't leave the guesthouse."
A true contradiction. Either Battler or George must be lying.
8th. Battler + Maria: "George, Maria and Battler couldn't have killed Jessica." / George + Maria: "Jessica is dead."
Someone must have dodged death, or Maria and one of Battler and George is lying.
Theory#1:
George kills everyone in the dining hall except his parents. He then kills Natsuhi and Krauss, and one of them hides in the room. That parent doesn't leave, so the seal stays intact. Maria kills Shannon on George's orders, giving that "George could kill a child" line meaning. The free parent kills everyone from now on. A problem with this is that one of the parents won't be a culprit, so will I have to guess it? Seems like I'm wrong. Oh well.
Trying out my first theory got me to the third hint. (George, Eva and Maria; George, Hideyoshi and Maria and George, Eva, Hideyoshi and Maria)
Nanjo's and Jessicas's deaths were narrated, so everything they say is true. George, Maria and Battler really couldn't have killed Jessica.
Nanjo tells the truth, so every death besides Rudolf's, Kyrie's, Eva's, Hideyoshi's and Rosa's is confirmed.
Jessica tells the truth, so George didn't kill Shannon. Neither Nanjo nor the cousins killed Gohda and Kumasawa, so one of the "unconfirmed five"
must have killed those two, Nanjo and Jessica. This doesn't really change my theory much, now I just gotta try...
Theory#2:
Same plan as before, changing George for Battler, and having either Battler or one of his parents kill Shannon. Either Battler kills every Ushiromiya adult and Genji and one of his parents just hides in Natsuhi's room, or Battler kills Shannon(either that counts as two people or it counts as one and Battler also kills one of Natsuhi/Krauss) with his parents taking care of Natsuhi's room and the guesthouse, or, most likely, Battler just kills Shannon, one of his parents kills everyone in the mansion, and the other kills everyone in the guesthouse.
Jackpot. I just realized why George doesn't work, too. If George can't kill Shannon (it would be absurdly OOC for him too, but I could ignore that for this game), either he or one of his parents can't be a culprit, so they couldn't lie. This also discards some of my Battler theories, but I think that the the last one fits perfectly, and Battler/Rudolf/Kyrie got accepted as right, so I'll just read on.
